MRI TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint)
Abnormalities of the TMJ's can be well diagnosed with MRI. The joints are imaged in both the open and closed mouth positions, and dislocations as well as subluxations can be demonstrated. In addition, chronic degenerative changes are also well seen on MRI images.
