Brain: CT angiogram (CTA)
CT angiogram (CTA) of the brain is used to work-up stroke or stroke-like symptoms. It can detect narrowing or blockage in the major arteries supplying the brain. CT angiogram can sometimes provide clues indicating inflammatory conditions of the arteries of the brain, known as vasculitis. CTA of the brain is also used to detect and follow congenital abnormalities of the brain arteries, such as aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations (AVM's).
